About Us
Established in 1990, we are a registered charity, run by a committee. The Pre-School is Ofsted inspected and is a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance. We pride ourselves on our team, the relationships we build with families, and the flexibility that our charity status allows us.
Our team is led by Rosie, a qualified Early Years Teacher and Alan, a qualified Early Years Lead Practitioner. The rest of the team are qualified Early Years Educators and Practitioners, or current apprentices. Most of the team have worked at Clockhouse for many years. Your child's key person will make strong links with you and your child, allowing them to support their individual development. We work with up to 30 children each session, with at least five adults. We hope that you and your children will make new friends and spend many happy hours with us.
We follow the principles of Learning through Play to support children to continually develop their knowledge and skills, to become confident and independent lifelong learners. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage as published by the Department of Education. We use Tapestry (a secure online learning journal) to keep in touch with parents and families, share examples of what we've been doing and record children's progress. You can find out more about how we use Tapestry here.
As a charity, we are committed to keeping our provision cost effective, offering fully funded
and paid sessions. We do not make additional charges for our sessions and much of our
income comes from fundraising activity and voluntary donations.
